Make Your Body Your Machine

December 30th, 2009

The great people at FitnessAnywhere have given us a no-fail solution to the holiday blues with their TRX® Suspension Trainer™ Take some time to read their tips for overcoming holiday madness…

People often get sick during the holidays, perhaps because we spend so much time inside in such close proximity to so many people. But a more likely explanation is that our immune systems are weakened from all of the stressors proprietary to this time of the year. Forking over your hard-earned cash to buy presents, taking time out of your schedule to attend parties where you may overindulge in cheer and planning events with family and friends can leave you feeling like Rudolph and Blitzen just rammed you with Santa’s sleigh.

This is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, not the season for panicking over credit card bills and overcooked turkeys. While I can’t help you with your turkey issues.  I can tell you that if you carve out time to keep hitting your TRX training sessions when you’re not cutting the rug at office parties or slicing the bird at holiday meals, you’ll come out of this holiday season more functionally fit and with lowered stress levels.

Time is always the most valuable and scarce commodity in our busy lives. The easiest training trap to fall into during the holidays is the trap of no training at all because you’re just too busy.

Everyone can benefit from Suspension Training®. Because the user can effortlessly control the resistance and level of difficulty by simply shifting the position of their body, the TRX® Suspension Trainer™ Professional is perfect for gentle rehabilitation, hardcore athletic training, and everything in between. Suspension Training® also allows for complete ranges of motion while training which allows for a more functional workout routine.

Since you can set up the TRX virtually anywhere, including inside your house using the TRX Door Anchor or Xmount, you have the luxury of squeezing training sessions into your schedule whenever you can steal a few minutes for yourself. Once you’re set up and ready to go on the TRX, you can hit a whole body training session that will pump up your resting metabolic rate and keep you burning off turkey and beer in less time than most people spend driving back and forth to the gym.

It would be ideal if you could continue to follow the training program you’ve been using heading into the holidays. But if time and commitments conspire to make this impossible, keep in mind that something is always better than nothing. If you can create 15 minutes to get on the TRX in the house or outside in the backyard, that’s better than spending those 15 minutes staring at the leftovers in the fridge and nibbling on homemade fudge.

Make the time, stick with it, and holiday food won’t stick with you.

I am pleased to offer the TRX Suspension Professional and Door Anchor in my store…Get your TRX here…
